Maybe, however as usual the Packer guys NEED to chime into a thread that has nothing to do about the Packers.

And shockingly, the Packers fans chime in on a thread about something Vikings-related that is happening RIGHT NOW with…

    I thought the OT was the HOF….Moss played 14 seasons…..The first 7 with MN….The last 7 with 4 different teams……
How is this totally Viking related only……Was the deal only Viking fans can comment on a thread like this??

I’m a child of the 60’s grouse so it’s relevant to me….or is that not ok either? coffee

Me too Mudshark, a Vikings fan but also a child of the 60’s NFL. First actual NFL game I went to was in 67 or 68, in New Orleans, old Tulane Stadium…Saints vrs Bears. Gale Sayers was injured so Brain Piccolo was the replacement. Anyone remember the movie “Brian’s Song”? … whistling

Pics attached…remember when the Redskins (Sonny Jurgenson) had the spear logo? Kickers didn’t have face masks? Old Denver Broncos uniforms…

I think you 2 are missing the point. What do championships and reminiscing the old days have to do with a player being inducted to the hall of fame other than another derailing of an origanal topic?

Actually……………it was about Randy Moss and the HOF.

    But it doesn’t matter.

Most talented WR of all time, and probably my second favorite athlete after Kirby. Him and Urlacher both got in on the 1st ballot, as they deserved! Anyone hating on Moss should watch his 30 for 30, and remember everyone has regrettable moments.

Sorry, it was not my intent to derail this thread. Often times, comments can lead to related discussion or sharing on many threads here…we’ve seen it before. Sometimes though, that can add life to some threads that might be limited to repetitive comments saying basically the same thing.

Regardless, my “nostalgic” posts were not intended to derail or take away from the subject of the thread.

Congrats to Randy Moss, he was deserving.

As a Packer fan I’ve never feared an opposing team’s offensive player more than I feared 84. Adrian Peterson, Calvin Johnson, Barry Sanders, etc. None of them made me nervous the way Moss did. I hated him on the opposite sideline, would’ve loved to have him on mine.

Side note — anyone watch the postgame on ESPN last night? Never in a million years did I think Randy would be the most tolerable on a panel of ESPN buffoons. Berman and Young were just unbearable to me. It also seems like Randy’s WV accent has somehow gotten more pronounced with age. Daggum boi! ! smile

Most talented WR of all time

    Hah

Rank- 15th. all time receptions with 982
    0 super bowl rings
    Jerry Rice-Rank # 1 1595 receptions
    3 super bowl rings

Moss made some of the best catches ever in games that were meaningless.

Even Jason Witten of the Cowboys has 300 more catches than Moss.( Tight-End)

If you think Jason Witten or Jerry Rice were more TALENTED than Moss, you must have never seen the 3 of them play. They are all great players but no one did what Moss could do. One of the Fastest 40 times ever, huge vertical leap in a 6’4” frame. Troll on bud, maybe next you’ll say Sterling Sharpe or Jordy’s better lol

He (Moss) was not deserving of a first ballot entry-IMO

Yup, the #’s don’t lie and he is 2nd in WR TD’s, 4th all time in total receiving yards and 15th in receptions. And there are 25 WR’s in the Hall already for perspective.

Congrats to the 2nd best WR of all time.

And he wasn’t a bad guy.. Made some bad decisions.. and even those weren’t the end of the world. “Fake Moon” I mean, cmon not a big deal. Squirted a water bottle at an official? yeah, talk to Ray Rice about that one. And bumped a cop at a snail’s pace? I do think that he woulda had a harder time getting in if he wasn’t doing the TV thing over the past few years. His reputation has skyrocketed and people realize who his is now.

Agreed (probably first time ever with saugeye at that!)

Talent doesn’t equal HOF for me. Guess I recall the games he simply didn’t show up, plays he didn’t give a crap about bc he wasn’t in em. The end of his vikes career was somewhat ugly if i recall, needed a new team to put em in check with his urine poor attitude.

Don’t get me wrong, his talent was the greatest I’ve ever seen, but would like to think theres more to a HOF than just talent and #’s. Maybe in time, not first round.

If Moss would’ve had Steve Young and Joe Montana as his quarterbacks I guarantee he would’ve had close to the same numbers as Rice. I agree Rice is better though. And yes I know Moss had Brady for 4 years but that’s it, and a decent Culpepper for 1 year.
