For the last several years I have been buying SunX Sunscreen Towelettes SPF 30+. They are single-use packets and the sunscreen is fantastic! It doesn’t leave you greasy or shiny and it doesn’t stink. It’s not cheap sunscreen, but it was worth the price. Our supply was running low so I attempted to purchase more. After checking Amazon and some other sites, it seems the manufacturer has decided to change the product. It’s no longer a pre-moistened towelette in a packet – it’s two packets, one containing a dry towelette and the other has the sunscreen goop… Not sure what the point of this change is. See picture for example.

The descriptions on Amazon haven’t changed, just the picture. So it was difficult to tell that the product had changed. Thankfully I glanced at some customer reviews and found out why people were unhappy. I thought I found a supply of the old style at Office Depot. The picture and description were all of the old product so I was hopeful – nope. They sent me the stupid new 2-packs instead. And it was the same price as before, so basically the price has doubled with this change because you’re getting half the sunscreen!! This sucks. I really liked that sunscreen. So now I’m in the market for something new. Does anyone have any suggestions on a non-greasy, non-shiny, and stink-free sunscreen? I probably need SPF 30 or higher. I often wear long sleeves, scarves, and hats to protect against the sun too, but I still prefer a high SPF. Thanks in advance!

We’ve been using Coppertone “Oil Free” for several years. Like it.

Thanks Ralph, I’ll have to try that one. Dad, I like your suggestion – but I wear sunscreen a lot more than just for fishing! )

I’ve been using Neutrogena for the past 5 years in either 70 or 100. I’ve been really happy with it.

    Haha good one Brian.

One thing to always remember is toss the old sunscreen away. I burned so badly this year in June I am still paying for it now. That was sunscreen that was my backup. Unsure of how old it was but, apparently it was not effective.
