Nice photo! You’re warmer than I am, but its nice to see a warmup but the wind isnt going to make it feel like it today.
January 21, 2022 at 8:18 am #2091947Very pretty sunrise this morning. I love seeing sunrise photos! It’s about -8 where I am with a “feels like” temp at -24… but at least it’s sunny!
January 21, 2022 at 8:21 am #2091949Driving thru Nimrod yesterday Morning. It was -31.

DTI find cameras, especially on phones never really capture things as well as they should. Ive taken pictures when its snowing so hard you can hardly see 50 feet, yet the picture makes it look likes its only light flurries.

I hate how that happens! Ruins alot of good photo ops. I’ve even noticed how when the fog is so thick that you can’t see, you can look through your phone and see fairly well.

Agreed! If I could have even half the cool pictures where my eyes can see it but my phone can’t take it…..
January 21, 2022 at 8:17 pm #2092276My whole life I’ve loved full moons in winter when the ground is covered in snow because it gets so bright at night out in the country away from light sources. These pictures don’t do justice to what I was trying to capture.

You fish Minnewaska?
DTJanuary 22, 2022 at 8:47 am #2092315I haven’t had an opportunity to get out for a good sunrise as of late, but I get some pretty amazing photos from an early bird I know!

I have, but on Thursday I headed down to Big Stone. It was warmer down there. Only -27…..
Thanks for the credit Sharon!
I’m not an early bird per say, but nothing beats an amazing sunrise!Attachments:
January 22, 2022 at 9:07 am #2092326As you kids get older you will come to appreciate seeing the sunrise. It’s my favorite time of the day.

Oh, it’s very appreciated. I’ve even hunted particular deer stands that have better views on occasion. I’m literally writing down seasons and locations for the best sunrise and sunset pics when I find them. So when I retire, I’ll know where to setup to get amazing photos to share.
January 24, 2022 at 7:28 am #2092725This was years ago on the north end of lake of the woods. Love a good sunset.

Loved those nights as a teen. Get home after wrestling practice and still being able to see while I did chores on our dairy farm just like it was still daylight out. Kinda cool when the moon throws pretty dark shadows.
DeucesPosts: 5236January 24, 2022 at 1:36 pm #2092930Don’t know if it deserves its own thread but would be interesting to see a preference for sunrise vs sunset poll.
I’m a sunset guy myself. Unless I’m on big water, then I’ll take a sunrise anyday.

I know that spot and have some great sunset shots but nothing like that!
Brian do you sleep in your boat or come in after dark? If i didn’t have to drive an hour after sunset, i am pretty sure i would be there late every time. i can’t think of a better day of being on Pepin than a hot summer night in late July or August. those fall days in October are tough to beat too.
July 22, 2022 at 8:04 am #2137002Some awesome pictures here over the past 2 days. Coletrain I like seeing the winter picture, that’s a whole different set of beauty during that portion of the year. Seems so weird, when I look at that or Dutch’s at the beginning of this thread I can’t even fathom that level of below-freezing cold weather during the middle of summer.
Here’s a few I took this morning at sunrise. Of course as I was walking to the garage it stopped me in my tracks, yet the pictures don’t do it justice at all.
