Summer heat – temps up

So the water temps went up four degrees from last weekend’s heat, and I found from 72 to 74 degrees recently! lol. Not exactly the autumn cool down that I’ve been waiting for. I had to laugh or cry one or the other.
Catching some lunkers though… Buffalo! had more buffalo lately many hooked in the mouth and not snagged – than caught big walleyes. After 20 years of guiding on the river, fishing it pretty hard I see some things change – but so much of what fish and the sizes of fish and when you catch them – remain the same.

Another summer gone by, the leaves haven’t changed yet. Starting to get quiet out there.

I so miss having the time to fish the Croix in the fall. Between shortening days and lengthening responsibilities balance against other fall hobbies I just cant find the time. Good luck out there this fall!

    Nice to hear from Turk.
Monday night a few walleyes but the crappies were on a tear eating up the shad raps while trolling for walleyes. 15 crappies between 12 and 14 inches.
Waiting for the bite to materialize and look foward in hopes of having a repeat of last year on the ice.
