Looking thoughts on full finger fishing gloves for the summer.
    Needs:
    1) SPF protection
    2) Finger protection – Due to a health condition my hands need to be protected from hooks and fish spines
    3) Ability to hook live bait (Latex gloves are like greasing a pig and trying to hang on to a minnow or leech)

I see Fish Monkey makes some full finger gloves. Has anyone tried them?

Any other recommendations to check out?

Go to Harbor Freight and buy a box of the 9 mil extreme duty gloves. They are not slippery when they get wet,and I use them all the time ice fishing or cold weather.

I’d opt out for sunscreen and some lip grabbers. Forceps in multiple sizes and shapes in the other hand will make for a injury/slime free unhooking.

Depending on your bait setup I’d keep a large rubber coated neoprene slip on glove right in the bucket or bait well and use as needed.

Some serious blood thinners or allergic to the proteins?

I’m kinda in the same boat as you…have to be very careful with sun and infection from a fish poke.

There aren’t many good gloves out there for summer. The best option are the heavy latex gloves like mentioned. You can grip live bait with them. The fish grippers are a good option. The simplest is a wet towel…wrap the fish in the towel and you can grip it easy. For some reason they don’t flop as much with a towel on them, either.

Or, hire Beads to be your personal fish unhooker.

Had a double lung transplant and the meds makes me immunocompromised. Thankfully the transplant went well and it will be 6 years next month. Just don’t want to push my luck. The Doctor said to not touch live bait or deal with fish without gloves. The bacteria can cause all kinds of health issues.
