It’s my second day of imploding prairie poodles in Wyoming and I’m stumped on this.
I’m getting more flyers than ever before. Same batch of rounds I loaded of just under 1000. I’m getting random flyers in the 250 to 400 ish range. I popped a couple at 600 plus and was dead on with my mmildots on my chart and the windage was fine. Drop Down to shoot a dog at 250 yrds and I’m a couple inches either high right or low left. Seems like 1 out of 3 or 4 is perfect.
Howa 222-250 55gr noslers. Normally I put 5 rounds in a dime at 250 yrds with this load. Never had an issue with heat in the past with this gun. Frustrating. Most of the rats are on follow up shots and a lot off camera.
    Any ideas

It almost sounds like something is loose?

Randy when had you visited your Optometrist?
    Just kidding, Randy!
I know nothing about long range past 100 yards.

Contribute that one to heat. Bore snaked and set in the truck with the air conditioning going. Was shooting almost 100% until I got to about 25 rounds then acted up again. Gave it more time to cool down again and it was right on.

What I have done in the past is keep a wet towel across the barrel to help remove the heat faster.
