Thinking about getting a ram suction cup mount to try in the pickup with my helix 5. Any one have any experience using these with similar sized units? How did it hold up?

I had one for my H2Oc back when those were popular. It seemed to hold really well. Obviously the Helix is considerably heavier so I don’t have a clue if it will support it but the base is fairly cheap so I wouldn’t be afraid to try if I already had the other components.

This is the base I had…

You can also get it $5 cheaper if you already have the ball base.

I just noticed they make a double suction cup base. I can’t imagine that wouldn’t hold a Helix 5.

Or buy two of the bases and make your own and save a few bucks!

I was planning on buying two,and making my own base for them. I have seen a few single cup ones on some videos with similar older same sized units, and as you suggested, figured two should do it. My goal is to use the ram mount and be able to go from vehicle to vehicle to sled or atv and to wheel house with one unit. My only trouble was the vehicles. Thanks for the input.

Comparing the helix 5 to the 788cihd that I normally use, the helix is notably lighter. All of the units I noticed in videos were the older heavier units. So it should work.
