I saw the box over the weekend but now it’s gone and previously checked subjects are still showing unread???

It’s a bit different than what we’re used to and I will definitely be fine tuning as we go along. When viewing the list of forums the check box will appear when there are forums marked in yellow as “unread”. The problem is if you go into a forum but don’t read all of the topics and then leave and have other forums as “unread” you can mark those forums as read but it will not mark the one you just visited. So the topics in the one you just visited will remain as unread.

    Hope that makes sense.

You’ll need to mark that specific forum as read after you enter it.

It’s nice to see Vickie holding fish. At least we know it’s not another Tina! )

Be nice. I am not like your “Tina”. I have been on this forum for years (probably more than most) I just don’t post much. I’m too busy fishing and hunting.

Where do I find the little smiley faces now?

@Vickie – some of the smiley faces are automatic when used with the following:

    :) :D :P

    ) D P

There may be others – I haven’t taken a look at that area of the code to see what’s all converted. When we update the forum code I’ll be sure to get the smiley panel back into place though.

Edit note – here’s the rest:

Dave–FWIW, the box has entirely disappeared. It now doesn’t show in any forums, whether I’ve visited them in the past or not. Completely gone.

@ChrisRaymond – that is odd. Are the forums/topics still being highlighted in yellow? What browser are you using?

Yes, the yellow highlighting function is still present. I’m running Win 7 with IE 11 here in the office. Will check for the box at the house tonight where I have Win 8.1 and the latest IE (suspect it’s 11 but will confirm).

@ChrisRaymond – IE 11 should be fine for the functionality. I’ll confirm with my Windows 7 install though. We’re leveraging jQuery so it handles the expected browser differences for modern browsers.

Dave–Home computer which is running Win 8.1 with IE 11 is fine. Check boxes are there. Is the check function Java or Flash driven? If so, I’ll see if the office machine has that add-on fully updated.

@ChrisRaymond – the check box functionality to mark all read is javascript based around the jQuery library. You may want to try clearing your browser cache and see if that helps any. I tested from my ultrabook which has Windows 7 and IE 11 and it was working fine from there.
