I am wondering what others are doing for the GTG? Still planning on bringing the wheeler and portable shack but wondering how safe the area is.
I can ppossibly get the shack in the vehicle for overnight, but worried about the wheeler. What are others planning? We are staying at the AmericInn in Sturgeon Bay.

Mike, in my 30+ years of running up there, I have yet to be stolen from. With that said, from May to Oct, I camp at either the state parks or one of the private sites near sister bay. In winter I have stayed at at various places between SB and Dyckesville with no issues. But, a chain and lock will always make better neighbors.

There is more cops in this town than anywhere in the state, very safe town, you should be just fine, just be careful driving back into town with to many adult beverages, I heard of a trailer being stolen in sherwood pt area a few weeks back, that’s the first time I ever heard something stolen ice fishing related in years

They were at Lit SB. I haven’t been up there now for almost 2 weeks – don’t know about SB or how busted up the heaves are for crossing. Need local UTD info

They are driving trucks out all over the peninsula. There is 20 to 22 inches everywhere as of now with not a lot of snow, I’m out there 5 days a week or so, hope that helps you guys, feel free to ask questions anytime about sturgeon bay or door county as I have been a lifelong resident and hopefully could answer most of your questions the best I can

As of now, no. I have a fall goods distributor show that I need to fly out to. I’m trying get another rep to cover for me. If I can, then I’ll be up there. If not, I have to miss it. If I do make it, most likely will be just for the day.

I have made a couple walleye trips about a hour south. Smaller fish – no traditional GB pigs.

If you have a camera, bring it. The water clarity is great and sight fishing with a camera is better than a flasher
