Stupid… or is it?

While tipping back a few with a buddy, he asked this:

“Anyone ever take a whack at making a ram ball that fits a catch cover plate?”

It may be unnecessary, but could it also be genius?

For what purpose? Storage?

You could probably use one of the Ram Tough-Ball components and drill a hole through the cover.

I’m trying to think of a use for it….? Sounds like a trip hazard and toe breaker to me.

I can’t think of a reason to put one on there. I agree with Munchy more a hazard then anything else.

Quick release, combined with a smaller, more flush mounting arm, and storage.

I’m envisioning a revolution pro 5.0 in the hard house, connected to an rca plate out to TV in multiple locations.

Mount the ball to the bottom and use it as a pizza holder.

So to mount a camera onto the hole cover? I’m not getting it

If you drew a picture for me it would help (preferably in Crayon)

A ball on the bottom for storage was what I originally thought you were talking about (but I don’t see the need and it would also cost hundreds of dollars for all the holes)

I would basically be making a camera mount with a better ram arm that folds flatter, and slides into the wall plates used for a rattle snake, or rod holder.

It’s a wall mount, not hole cover mount. Reading back on this, I’m confusing a lot of people…

You’re talking about the catch-cover brand Rattlesnake rod holders and rattle reels on the wall.

The crayons helped me immensely

Why not just mount a ramball to the wall?

EDIT: Now that I think of it, a ramball might slide right in there without any modifications.

Tried one I had laying around. Not quite, but a little grinder action and this one would slide right in.

One of the smaller balls with a smaller flat plate might go in without modification.
