Striker Climate Suit Opinion

I bought the Climate Bibs last ice season, and they were fantastic. This year, I bought the Climate Jacket. I was out crappie fishing in the Longville area on Sunday, and decided to try them out. It was pretty chilly and the wind was blowing. I didn’t have the liner in the bibs or the jacket and I was VERY comfortable. I never felt cold in the least. I also never felt too warm. It was really amazing. I was also impressed with the movement of the jacket. I was able to throw all day and not feel to cramped or confined. I’m super excited for the real cold now!

Mine ripped out the first trip in multiple places so back to the store it went. Warm but it shouldn’t rip like that.

My only complaint with the Climate bibs/jacket is the pocket in the bibs (near the chest area) is too dang small for a man’s hand to get in there.
Otherwise I absolutely love them both. Super warm. I can kneel in slush and water doesn’t seep through. I leave the vents open all winter in the parka and I never get too cold.
The original striker suit had issues with seams and tearing, but I haven’t heard of any issues with the Climate or the other newer versions within the last 3 years.
My zipper on the liner finally gave out so I had that replaced last week. The geniuses at the alteration shop I went to put it on backwards! So I had to bring it back yesterday to get them to redo it.
I said it cannot zip into my outer shell this way and “what mans jacket has the zipper slide on the left side”. She said, well can you bring the shell in? I said no, just pay attention to the zipper you take off and you know how the new one should go on. Seems pretty simple to me!
I wear my climate liner as an all season jacket. I wore it all winter last year just for casual use so it is worn a lot.
    Really happy with it.

Wore climate suit the last 5 years (since introduction) have not had a single failure except waterproofing which is to be expected with so much use.

Bib pockets fit my xxxl hands just fine.
Great suits and I support strikers comment about them being the farraei of ice fishing suits. Very versatile.

Are you talking about the top pockets near the chest? IDK what could be different but if I get my hands in mine I can hardly pull them out. I don’t even have overly large hands. I cannot remember how long I have had it, but I believe I bought it the first year they came out, at the ice show. Its been 4 or 5 years for sure.

The only complaint I have with my climate bibs is there is no belt! I never even thought about this when I bought it, but I get lower back pain pretty frequently and if I wear those bibs all day my back will hurt, even if they aren’t stuffed with heavy gear.

If I wear my ice armor bibs I don’t get a sore back. The ice armor bibs have a belt though and while I initially thought it was just for show, it actually takes a lot of weight off of your shoulders.

I need to see if someone could sew on a few belt loops or something to the striker bibs because they are better in just about every way than the ice armor ones.

Yeah. I do use them frequently when I’m only wearing the bibs. Probably just a difference in opinion. I have size XXL. Maybe your size is different or maybe they have some variation. I do own two pairs of the bibs and both are identical.

I love those pockets for hand warmers when it gets real cold and im inactively sitting in the boat.

I’m sure you could get that done easily Logan. Then you can accessorize it! Bedazzled belt with optional on/off fanny pack. I dunno, just tossing it out there.

That’s the same size I have. Certainly must be some variation. I was surprised how small they were. But, that is really my only gripe so that isn’t too bad I guess.
