Any word from StrikeMaster @ the I-Cast show on the status of this auger? Are they going to refurbish the
recalled augers & sell them or ?????

I know they found a new switch so I assume new Litium Lazers will be available this ice season. Last I spoke with SM they needed to get some clarification on what they could and couldn’t do with the recalled units.

But it’s only July. They’ll have it all figured out WAY before anyone thinks about walking on water.

Oh, contrare! I had a dream just the other day about setting early ice tip-ups! I’m a sicko, I know…seems to be a disease for which there is no cure. redface

I would think they would offer the NEW-MODEL with a forward and reverse switch like everyone else has. Also offer the refurbished last year units with the same switch at a reduced price.

I see this is also in the new 2015-2016 Ice Force catalog.

I didn’t see any mention of Reverse in the 2016 catalog….

The switch was the reason for the recall. It caused fires. It’s the only part that need to be refurbished. Unless I missed something.

Just get over all this Strike Master pride thing and buy an Ion. Tried and true. They may have made a couple small changes but at least I still have an auger. It’s the original model and still works great.

Or a Milwaukee M18 drill and K-Drill auger blade. I can build a deck while I’m waiting for the fish to bite.
