Great forum here, first time poster.

I tried out my new Strikemaster 40V for the first time yesterday and can say I’m really impressed by it however I noticed one thing about it that I wanted to ask the group about. Battery was fully charged and came from a warm truck cab, I drilled 8 holes and what I noticed is on 6 of them when I hit the bottom of the ice at breakthrough it would bind and cut-off the motor. I’d raise and start it and then it would get through on the 2nd attempt.

I come from using a Mag 2000 chipper for the last 18 years so this lazer bit is new to me. Talking to a buddy of mine he said when I feel it almost through I should apply just a bit of upward pressure and that will help. Does this sound right?

    I appreciate the responses!

You shouldn’t really need to put any downward pressure on the blades. They will should pull the bit downward on its own.

Sorry for the duplicate post. It errored out on my the first time but apparently it posted anyway. Perhaps the mod can consolidate them?

Thanks, I’m wondering if its just user error with my first time using an electric with the Lazer bit.
