Thinking about purchasing a SM Honda 4 Stroke 8″ auger. Pros and Cons? Is it enough HP. What is the trade off for a 4 stoke vs 2 stroke? Any thoughts?

I bought one last year and I really like it. Quiet, light weight, not much smoke, drills good, you don’t need to mix gas, and it starts easy. It is a little cold blooded if it is below zero. But just let it warm up and it is good to go.

I would say it has plenty of hp.

If I needed another one, it would be the one I would pick again.

Not as fast as Solo Lazer Pro but waaaayy easier to start (yep, a bit cold blooded). Has plenty of HP.

I have the SM strikelite II when they had the Robyn power head on it and love it. Wish I would have waited one year for the Honda power head to come on it.Hard to beat a honda.

I got the original strike lite. It’s harder to start when really cold. Needs warming up. May leak oil if set down wrong way.

Love it how smokeless it is. Awesome drilling inside the hub shack. More quiet, running. Just add non-oxy gas as needed.
