Got out on 7/13 for a long float. The bite has taken a significant turn lately, mostly for the worse, I’m wondering if astronomically high water temps account for this to some degree. Our bite has been mostly the same, trolling cranks in deeper water on the rocks. The only differences to note from other reports are trolling speed, elevated about two to three tenths of a mile to 1.5 and 1.6 due to increased flow, and crank selection, as JSR 5’s are still producing, but lately bomber 5 and 6A’s have been much better than the raps, I suppose that this is due tol a difference in action, but don’t know why. I have noticed that most of our good fish are coming on the inside rod (rock sides of the transition) recently. On a brighter note, although the eater bite has slowed down, we’re starting to see a few more nice fish like the one pictured above, and it’s always nice to go out and get ’em right in your backyard, instead of driving three or four hours. They’re still out there, go get ’em!!!
