I haven’t been able to fish for the past month, so i need to get my fix through someone else’s reports. So has anyone been on the river? Looks like this weather might finally let it starts lowering and flow at a steady rate.

I’ve been at least weekly with varying results, but nothing exceptional. I’m on a pretty good eater channel bite rite now between Evansdale and Laporte with some small to medium flatheads mixed in. A month ago, before the river got blown out we had a decent bite going on eater ‘eyes, pitching and trolling number 5’s. The smallmouths were on fire also at this time, with many over 16″ largest at 18″, also pitching and trolling raps.

I haven’t fished the last week but from what i’ve heard with the water falling the bite has slowed down. A few channels and white bass are being caught. Around here after the water stabelizes it should get going again, haven’t heard anything about the lakes. Be a good time to hit the trout streams or maybe the Volga or Turkey.

I’ve caught some decent smallies this week after work and some small crappies. Nothing like it was a month ago, but there are still fish to be caught. River has slowly been falling and it’s pretty clear for how high it is. I’m turning my attention to pan fish until the river comes down some.
