I’ve been away from the Cedar for a few days now. When i left, it was HIGH and MUDDY. Is the river coming down at all? Anyone been fishing it?

Its high and muddy here, the gates downtown are open pretty far. The creeks coming into the river might be a good bet fishing on the bottom with crawlers.

WW, it’s a mess, it came up about 3 feet in 24 hours in ‘Loo town eralier in the week, so it’s still pretty much blasted out, I’ve pretty well resigned myself to not fishing until the crankbait bite in May.

All 4 gates are still open in CF, but it’s gone down some in the Washington Park Golf Course. Still going over the wing dam below the big dam.

Well my schedule just got super filled today so I looks like maybe in 2 weeks I will put the boat in above the dam in waverly, by then the water should be down. Got the duck blind off of it yesterday and mounted the trolling motor and depth finders back on it. Now I have to cram fishing in with crop work, as well as turkey season.

Rumor has it, the Cedar in Waverly is down like 5 feet in the past two days. Seems like the Shell Rock contributes a TON of water, and causes the Cedar below Wash Access to rise ecessively, more than one would think.

    WW,
Youve also got to include the West Fork of the Cedar, Snag creek, beaver creek, Winnebago river and numerous other medium and small creeks that empty into the Shell Rock above Cedar Falls. Its always 3-4′ higher below Washington Union through Waterloo.
