Anyone fished the Cedar yet with this high water? I’ve been in Arkansas and Florida for the past two weeks and haven’t heard if there is a bite going on or not!?

Talked to the old man and he said the cedar in waverly is about 3 foot high but they way he describes it sounds just about right for me. I could get up to my little hot spot with no problem.

It is pretty high downstream from the dam all the way down through the loo’ However, it is not as bad north of washington union, as the shellrock is dumpin alot of water in from that point on. Went up to a spot in waverly today and caught a few ruff fish, ey at least it was nice to get something on the end of the line! Will forsure be out later this week as the water resides and river temps keep climbing!

The action should pick up soon, but I couldn’t scratch anything on Saturday. Hope the river comes down some this week. Everything else is about right.

Nothing but snagged roughies below 4th at lunch today. I’m going to try it downstream after work.

I tried below the dam in Cedar Falls, and where Snag Creek empties in really quickly, then a little further downstream with no luck. It was more a recon mission than anything, see the water height and clarity. Talked to a couple guys who had been catching smaller walleye near the dam, most likely males waiting to spawn…

I tried down from the dam aways, nothing but high water and debri. I am wanting to get into snag creek as well but sadfuly it is raging high right now. I reckon I should go try black hawk creek or snag creek where a little less water flow is at.

These rains aren’t going to help it. They only had one gate open Monday in CF. Went by today and they had 3 open, wouldn’t suprise me if the 4th is open soon.

that is no suprise they normally do that at every dam after any big rain to get the pool above lower and ready to take more water.

I’ve been checking a local creek about twice a week waiting for the whitebass to come into it and spawn. With the high river levels raiseing the water table in the creeks this is a big invitation for the whitebass to come into them and spawn. When the local creeks are high like this these aren’t bad choices for fishing at night on the bottom with nightcrawlers for walleyes and catfish. Around here more than a few very nice walleyes have been caught while fishing for catfish with crawlers at night.

The Cedar in Waterloo is just fine. I did great last Sunday with the high water and fishing has been a bit off from that point, but fish are still being caught. Flow should be back to near normal if they don’t open the CF gates after this rain.
