Wednesday outing? (2/26)

    Told my eight-year-old that we could go fishing on Wednesday after school. Planning on picking her up around 3 or 3:30 and heading straight to “somewhere nearby” for some ice fishing.

    Right now I’m thinking either Central City or MacBride, leaning toward the lake, since when the fish are on, the numbers are better and it’s hard sometimes to keep a young’un entertained. Just in case the bite is on, though, I’ll throw this on both FTL and FTR.

    Weather is supposed to be nice, anyone up for an adventure?

    There is nothing better than taking a kid fishing and teaching them about the outdoors . It will be a memory that they will never forget I know I sure havent forgot about my first fishing experiance and catching my first fish thumbs up to you if you take a kid fishing

    You can say that again – there’s nobody I like to fish with more than her. Should inject a “thank you” to Ecnook, since the fish-trap makes ice fishing comfortable enough for her to go along. One thing worth noting: my minimum 8000BTU Mr Heater will blast us out of there in no time. I’d bet it was 90° in there after 5 minutes of having the heater on.

    Anyways, caught two fish was all. One gill and one crappie. Hopefully the warming trend will get them crackin’.

    get a smaller heater though……either that or get the shorts out and bring in some sand and have a beach party.
