I’ve always heard bait shop owners telling me that guys fish the pit at Mowhawk park, so I drove down there yesterday. there were about nine cars and trucks parked on the point between the river and the pond, but so near as I could tell, all the guys were fishing within three feet of shore on the southeast corner.

Anyone know what they were after, or willing to admit to fishing there before?

I fished the Mohawk pit a lot in the summer time and have caught catfish up to 9 lbs, crappies up to 1 1/2 lbs, bass up to 5 lbs and northern up to 8 lbs. Could be they were hoping for any of the above.

Nice Job! Could stand some better looking fishermen though.
