Was on the cedar yesterday in the waterloo area for a couple hours. Fishing wasnt too bad. Caught 3 big suckers on worms. A walleye on worms. 2 leather backs on chiken liver. Had A cat that broke my line on dip bait. 3 small mouths on a perch shad rap, and a 20 inch channel on the shad rap, and a 23 inch northern on a gold origanal rapala. All in all it was a fun day on the river.

I decided to give it another try tonight. Tonight I caught 4 smallies on a shad rap and had 2 others jump off. And had a nice fish, my guess is a northern follow to the boat. My uncle caught 2 smallies, 1 on a spook and one on a spiner bait. also had 2 more blow ups on the spook but came up empty. Fish werent big but were fun.

nothin better than small river fishing in summer. (at least for me).
what did you do with them softshells? i despise the things, when i catch one its off with their heads. i have a prejudice though, as one tried to take off the tip of my finger once, and got pretty darn close.
ill be fishing the iowa tonight, its finally down to a normal flow and clarity. i wonder why there isnt a iowa river board on here, its pretty popular (des moines river too).
