    What is everyone’s plans for the long Holiday weekend? I will be camping at Eagle Cliff Campgrounds near Lanesboro, MN with my family. I might have to try my hand at some trout fishing, it has been a long time since I have done any trout fishing, any suggestions on where to go or what presentation to use? Hopefully I will be able to get some good pics that I can bring back to share here on the board.

    HI STEVE, yOU COULD JUST GO BACK BEHIND WHERE YOU ARE CAMPING. THERE ARE NO REALLY BIG DEEP HOLES RIGHT THERE, BUT SOME NICE WATER WITH SOME LONG RIFFELS. TRY THROWING A SPINNER. THERE IS THAT NICE HOLE IN THE CORNER, BUT I CAN’T SEEM TO CATCH ANYTHING OUT OF IT!! GOOD LUCK, I’M GOING TO REDWING. JLK

    Steve;
    I just got back from that area, fished it thursday. Great trout action in Lanesboro section looks like they have stocked some larger Rainbows there. There’s a large pool at the lower end of Whalan just up from where Gribben creek empty’s into the root, try working large spinners here. Between your camp and upstream to the confluence may be slow but can yeild some big fish, both trout and bass, throw big silver and copper spinners.
    good luck!
    John
