I am thinking about making a float trip downstream from Nashua. Are there any accesses to take out a small boat (carryable) between Nashua and Plainfield? I know there is one just east of Plainfield, but am not familiar with any between. Thanks for any help.

    Hi Jonb
Plainfield is the only place to take a boat out that I know of. I did that strecth a couple years ago. Started in the early morning darkness and finished in the dark (long float)
The fishing wasn’t really all that great either. Let us know how you do. Good luck

Seems like it’s getting along in the fall late enough that we’d usually be seeing reports from Dysart contingent by now.

Maybe this year they’re keeping all the good fishing to themselves?

The fishing has been great between Charles City and Nashua. I had a friend float below Nashua and he said the fishing wasn’t very good. They are catching a lot of fish below the dam right now. Jigs and twisters. Orange has been a good color. They are draining the lake and most of the gates are wide open. Once the lake is low enough the flow will stop and so will the bite probably. There are a few bridges between Charles City and Nashua to load a canoe. Lets us know how it goes. J.D.

    Gianni,
The Dysart/Traer/La Porte contingent has been silent only due to lack of time spent on the water, we haven’t been out since August Hopefully somnetime in the near future BFD will have to take us out to once again prove that he’s still got it.

    Little B –
You mentioned that the Dysart contingent is lacking time spent on the water. They (aka YOU ) seem to be lacking time spent on the computer. Don’t you have some pics you need to send this direction so I too can have a picture on my profile.

    Hi Gianni,
Little B is right. We haven’t been on the Cedar for awhile. Too much time on the Big River I did put my ear to the ground for some information and fishing is picking up Get out there and give it a try…..B
