Okay, the water level has finally reached a point where I feel like fishing the Cedar again. Went out 6/29, 7/01, 7/03, with my best friend, also an IDA member, Nick Harrison, owner operator of Nick’s wrong way guide service, (it’s a joke, please don’t call, we’ll end up having to pay you!) Anyway, we averaged 2-3 eyes per trip, average sive being from 15-18 inches. Took all the eyes on #5’s in 5-7 feet of water on the rip-rap. Biggest eye this week was a fat 25″ will post pics later. Seemed like there wasn’t a dominant color this week, I caught fish on just about everything in my box. Lots of eater cats thrown into the mix also on chubs and night crawlers. Just get out there and find the rip-rap and you should find the ‘eyes!

I was out on Monday afternoon for a couple of hours. Whew, that was what I figure on being the first really HOT day of summer, and the number of powerboats out proved me correct. From the 5-in-1 up past Seminole Valley park, I’d be willing to bet there were between 75 and 100 power boats out. Bikini index was still only at about a 3.

We casted the rip-rap by Seminole, but I think there was just too much current there to really hold fish. Headed back down to Mowhawk and threw cranks at the banks hoping for a bass or a pike, but found nada. In all, we were probably out for about three hours, with two hours of blanking on the fish, the third getting tossed in the wakes.

All in all, it was a good day, in spite of the uncooperative mode of the fish.
