Cedar river weekend walleyes

    Fished the Cedar River below Waverly this weekend.. Ended up with 14 keeper walleye (14-18″) and 5 nice catfish. Water was muddy, bite was slow and they were deep. First time out this year and with the river coming down to normal it should only get better

    Nice stringer WW.. were you using soft plastics?

    Slip sinker, hook and half a night crawler on the bottom… And of course my 7′ St. Croix Panfish UL!! They wouldn’t bite on jigs or leaches….

    Nice to see a Iowa rivers out of the corn fields enough to start fishing this year. Sucks but I’m afraid with all the tiling this may be the norm in the years to come.
