Eventually turned out to be catch & release.

Trolling flicker shads,I got a fish on. While reeling it in the fish surfaced and come unhooked. Then a seagull grabbed the shad rap and flew away with it. I carefully reeled it in (like bringing a kite in). My brother in law put my sweatshirt over it while he removed the treble hooks from its beak & wing. Then he set it free and it flew away with no problem.

Person that did that should be beaten into oblivion with that same rock.
Caught a one-piece bathing suit on Lake Geneva years ago,in about 35′ of water. It appeared to be a large size, should have kept it and made a drift bag out of it.

Guy I fished with snagged an old Eska outboard when retrieving anchor on Fox river.I guess someone got PO’d that it wouldn’t run,and set it free.

Wife pulled in a tip up this spring. looked like it had been in the water for quiet some time. Last winter I caught my friend’s cell phone. Was able to get a shiver minnow through the cover in 25′ of water, got a case of beer from that catch hahaha.

2 years ago at URL my buddy kicked his rod down the hole. A couple hours go by and he thinks he’s snagged only to pull up the rod he’d lost. Later on, after many more drinks, he proceeds to kick the same rod down the same hole for the 2nd time that trip.

This summer I was fishing a ned rig near the Coon Rapids dam and a clam had chomped on. Had my whole jig inside it and only part of the worm was sticking out. Tough bugger wouldn’t let go so, unfortunately, I had to smash it open to get my tackle back.
