Are they saying the 40-50 mph gusts are coming through today now? I thought it was Friday. Wanted to get out today but not with that kind of wind.

Im guessing we got about 7 with what came overnight. Gonna be a mess, they usually can accurately predict the wind.

Very light snow started here yesterday morning with 6 MPH wind out of the Southeast, snow really picked up here right at four PM.
After making a quick grocery store stop I came home to a frozen water line, UGH!!
Got that thawed out, by that time I couldnt see the neighbors yard lights to my west a quarter of a mile.
Got up at 3:55 this morning to check the weather, strong winds, still snowing, and a fair amount of drifting going on covering our roads out in the country.
I was hoping that with empty ditches it wouldnt drift too bad so around nine thirty I thought I would make a run for it, no go, four foot deep drifts fifty feet or longer to my west so I tried another route, no go there either.

This dang wind is going to make it worse as today and tonight go on and I have a ton of work to do, dang it!!

6-8″ here. Woke up wondering where the wind was. Went out to clear the driveway one more time from the overnight snow and glad I did it when I did. Starting to whip out there now and sounds like it will only get worse.

I’m in the 6-8″ rang as well in southern Isanti County. I don’t know where this DO NOT TRAVEL bs came from. its pretty nice out right now. 9mph breeze and a balmy -7 here in Braford. Tomorrow looks to be the windy day.

We got 5 or 6 inches in the White Bear area. Perfect time for the belt to snap on the snowblower….. chased At least it’s light.

That heavy snow from the last storm must’ve done it in.

Bismarck, ND has gotten two big blizzards already this year – both dumping 18″+ and the ND wind causing huge drifts. I’m running out of room to throw the snow off my driveway!

Keep in mind some of these winter weather warnings are more about the blowing snow and wind chills than the snow amounts. Here in Sartell my guess is we got around 5-6″ of light fluffy snow yesterday and last night. Simple push of the snow to the edge of the driveway and a pass or two with the snowblower and it was done. Wind just starting to pick up here now. Going to get a lot worse later tonight and tomorrow. My guess is we will have some good drifts by tomorrow morning. Decision to make for us for the christmas gathering. My Daughter goes to school in Duluth. She has to Work Friday Night and is off Sat. and Sun. but needs to work again on Monday afternoon. Need to decide if were going to drive there or risk having her drive here. I think we will end up driving up to duluth and spend a few days with here there.

Must be a fan of Dan Barreiro. Me too. It’s winter, this stuff is suppose to happen.

I would say 6+ inches in the WBL area. Drove by WBL and it is absolutely a ghost town … you can tell there is a lot of snow on top of the ice. I don’t fish that lake very often. Will check my normal areas later today. I do have a couple of smaller lakes (big ponds) … they are private and the one is plowed and/or snow blown (hopefully) by an older guy and his big ATV type vehicle. May be my go to place this winter.

Snow was light and the snow blower (combined with the wind starting) threw that snow a long way. I did our driveway, neighbor’s driveway entrance, and the street (along the curb) in front of our house – which really minimizes the snow plow refill of our driveway entrance !

Dan Barreiro truly lives up to his initials >> DB … he is negative on any and everything. I cannot listen to him and figure his sidekick is only there because he has to be.

Since I no longer drive into work very often, I have the fortune of not even punching the KFAN dial in the afternoon by mistake.

He’s a little over the top sometimes but I listen to his show regularly on KFAN.

When the Common Man Dan Cole starts talking about his golf game, that’s when I change the station.

Took two hours to get everything cleaned up this morning, but that includes several neighbor’s places as well as mine. I have no idea what we ended up getting but probably around eight inches. A little chilly, however I’d much rather move fluffy snow when it’s 10 below than deal with that wet sloppy crap we had a while back.

    Now it’s nap time mrgreen

Gotta travel 4 hours west of SW of Minnesota today . Do I leave tonight in the dark at 6 or in the morning ?? Wind looks twice as brutal tomorrow.

That is a tough one. I would personally rather drive during the day time.

Wind is going to start ratcheting up late this afternoon. I wouldnt travel in the dark either, but after seeing videos from out West of what is coming, the daytime travel will not be a whole lot better than driving in the dark either. Id imagine many roads in that area of the state will be shutdown.

Yep, but I usually turn it back on because his golf segments don’t usually last for more than 10 minutes.
