I recently have went to a local running’s and I found probabaly 20 ish boxes of size 2 smash Shad’s and bought them all. If I was looking to sell these knowing that they are discontinued, how much could I get out of them?

Also the colors of the smash Shad’s are blue chrome orange, Purple pearl, chrome clown, fire perch, metallic yellow black back, and black chrome orange. Also I meant size 6 not size 2

Hopefully nothing. If you dont need them why hoard them all.

Well not saying I’m hoarding them I bought them knowing that they were discontinued and for the price I couldn’t pass them up, just was looking for direction of if I wanted to sell them how much could I get for them and if I would then be looking into selling them or keeping them

What’s wrong with him trying to make a little side cash and reselling discontinued cranks?
I don’t think his intentions were to hoard them, but possibly resell them instead…

    $2 ea.

You really think only $2, from what I’ve been looking at on the web I’ve seen 5 to 10 dollars a piece and at 2 bucks a piece ide be losing money

Also all the cranks are still in package so there is no scratches or hook rash on them so taking that into consideration that could affect price too

I think as a package you could sell them for $3.00 a piece so if you have 20 then $60.00. you can get more by selling individually like on ebay, but the time involved and shipping each one individually will probably not be worth it.

If you want top dollar for them I would say sit on them for 5 years. By that time people who love them will have lost theirs and be willing to pay for a replacement.

Would anybody actually happen to know when these baits were discontinued?

3 to 5 dollars a piece is where I’m finding them on line. I don’t think your making a big pay day.

    Price = 3 for $10 + shipping.

    Good Luck,

That’s not hoarding at all but even if it is, why not? People can be jackas__s. Smash shads are some great cranks. I have several boxes full but don’t use them any more because they can’t be replaced. Great find!

So why wouldn’t you use them if they are great. I have a bunch discontinued lures, if they work I’m using them

LOTS of discontinued lures are excellent. Most are not.

Cabelas and Scheels had them for 2 bucks a piece 2 years ago …I bought 150 of them..most colors have never caught a fish but a few of them are hot baits…I wish I would have bought the barrel full of them, at least 90% run straight right out of the box…unlike the flickers doah doah

I always keep discontinued cranks for some reason that I can’t put my finger on. I guess it’s because I’m sentimental and don’t want to lose any. I have boxes full of two sizes of Smash Shads, River Rockers and Shadlings that are all discontinued. Storm Thunder Cranks, the predecessor to Smash Shads was an even better crank in my opinion.

There are so many great cranks on the market today that catch walleyes that not using my discontinued cranks makes no difference tome.

Smashs were great bc they were cheaper from the very get go.

If you’re gonna ask buyers to pay a premium for what was a value bait to begin with good luck with that, as said there are already good other baits available rn elsewhere.

But if you have time to kill offer them at a premium in hopes you’ll find that one buyer out there who just cant live without em and will pay good money for, there are folks out there like that, but as stated previously as well many of those fellas already stocked up well after they discontinued so may be a lil early to get in on that crowd yet.

I like the idea of holding on to for few years, let the value rise and when the timing is right sell them for premium and make a whole extra $37 as compared to now. tongue
