Storage for stuff you need to keep in the truck

Just curious how other guys keep stuff like jumper cables, tow strap, hitch balls, ratchet straps, extension cords, wheel chocks, etc. All under the back seat? Some kind of tub you keep in the bed?

While I keep a lot of stuff in the tray under the back seat, not everything will fit. So I keep a plastic tub in the bed, but that can get in the way sometimes of other stuff I need to haul.

I have a F150. I know the RAM guys with the bed lockers can keep stuff there.

Has anyone tried those boxes that fit over and between the wheel well in the bed?

All of the above, rolling around in the bed.

I got an 8′ bed never has to be made!

Under the seats or in a crate in the back, I have a Suburban tho so plenty of room.

Milk crate in the back. I have a jump pack instead of jumper cables I keep in the center console.

I have car seats on my rear seat so the under seat compartment isn’t always immediately accessible.

Tidy Cat cat litter pails. Empty 1/2 out and store the chain and anything else that rusts in there. Also have some litter handy for traction. Best part is nobody will steal a cat littler pail.

The new Rams have bins in the floor in the backseat….just enough space to keep what I need in them.

Dang it, that’s a great idea! Hopefully I can fit tire chains in there, too.

When Sears was closing they had heavy duty tool bags for cheap. Got one in each vehicle for “stuff.” Fits nicely under back seat of truck. Also use one for my dewalt cordless tools and batteries.

Some goes under the back seat. Things like a booster pack, work gloves, lighter

I also keep a 5 gallon bucket with lid in the bed. It’s strapped to the cargo hook with a bungee and is always accessible right inside the tailgate. There’s cables, scissors, impact, couple screw drivers, tape measurer, rags, and a ratchet strap in there currently

I can’t stand those kind of things rattling around in the box or cab of my truck. It drives me nuts when I need something and either can’t find it or can’t find it immediately.

I can’t seem to get away from my SUVs. The benefit of an enclosure makes more sense for my life, I did upgrade to the Yukon xl this round tho.

Litterbox is now on my to get list. Nice 👍

I keep my stuff in a couple of plastic totes in the bed of my truck under the cover and kept from sliding forward by a ratcheting cargo bar when I’m pulling my boat and just take them out of the bed and store them by my boat when I’m not pulling it.

I built an 8″ high drawer system for the bed of my truck. Great for storage and hiding things. Also heavy enough that with the tailgate locked, there is no way anyone could lift it up to get anything out of it.

Everything I need for daily commuting fits in plastic totes under the rear seats. Then I have a couple tool bags/totes that go in the box on bigger trips.

Most everything I need can be gotten from my AAA card. grin

Only thing I keep in the truck is winter weather related….chain, shovel, additional clothes.

I mostly keep my stuff under the rear seat, quite a bit of room in my Ram. The problem I have with long term storage In the back is the amount of dust from dirt roads that gets in. I have a small Plano Marine Trunk which is the same as their regular trunks, but has an o-ring in the lid, and that keeps the dust out. I think they might not be made anymore though, haven’t seen them for quite awhile.

I have a milk crate in the bed and then use a small strap and carabiner to hook it into one of the far back tie downs so it doesn’t slide all over the place. Works great and quick and easy to remove when I need to whole bed.

I have always alternated between a toolbox and a tonneau and never found that sweet spot until now. I put a toolbox on my truck which already had an aluminum rollup tonneau cover. Well I took that BAK revolver apart and shortened it to fit with the toolbox on. Currently waiting for new vinyl to be delivered so I can reupholster it, then I’ll add some seals to the bed corners where the toolbox sits and it’ll be my dream setup.

Some stuff goes in the toolbox, still have plenty of bed space for a 4 wheeler (I couldn’t close the gate with my wheeler before anyway).
