Headed to the pond this Friday and Saturday. Where is the best place to get a steak on a Friday night?

X2 on Lonesome Pine. Excellent food. The Y Bar also has a good steak.

Best Broasted Chicken —- Birds Nest. No one else is even close.
Thursday night – if you’re not there early enough you are out of luck.

We ended up eating at the Y. We had steak and blackened walleye. It was great food. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I believe it was the Y we ate at a few winters ago. I had the best chicken Alfredo I’ve ever had. My friends said the same.

The Y-Club is just down the road from where I’m at and is a favorite too. Considering the lack of comparable competition in that area, they do good job with food and service. Definitely kid friendly also which helps when you have to bring them.

And their dinner menu if not the finest, I would rate well above and beyond simple bar food.

Perhaps the closest thing for dinner now that the supper clubs like Myr Mar and Carlsona Beach went up in smoke years ago.

There aren’t any great steak joints by Mille Lacs. If I’m hungry for a steak I’m going to cook it myself.

Did you try every steak place near ML before or after you decided to only cook steaks yourself? ???

Reminds me of Nitti’s Hunters Point special which is well worth it. I didn’t mention when the OP posted because he was looking for Friday night.

Sundays – Thursdays: 8 oz succulent prime rib, choice of potato and salad bar: $13.95

If you are on the west side this place is pretty nice.

Great place, Haven’t had steaks though. It’s about 5 minutes west of Garrison.

Great tip! I have been looking for a place to have a great quality steak and have come up short. Every place that I found either declined or is gone. This one is a bit of a drive, but well worth it. I went the weekend after you posted this and had a very good ribeye. Thank you for the suggestion!

How did I miss this thread?! The Lonesome Pine is excellent food. I’ve yet to have anything that wasn’t good there. It gets very busy and early dinners aren’t an option since they open at 5, but it’s worth it.

East Side – Appeldoorn’s is another option for steak

    14 oz Ribeye
    18 oz Porterhouse
    6 oz Filet of Beef
    8 oz Manhattan Strip
    8 oz Center Cut Sirloin
