Anybody using this spinning rod ? If so how are you fishing it? Just got the mlf for the lighter baits. Just need to here from those who currently are using the MF. Thanks for your time Don

I have two of these rods…My favorite rods out of over 35 rods I currently have. I use them for walleye fishing pitching jigs to wingdams on the river and also Smallmouth bass fishing tubes and drop shots. You will be more than happy with this rod. waytogo

I have to agree with kwp, I have a 7′ mlf it is a great rod. I use it a lot for jigs and light rigging as I am mostly a walleye guy. I think i will buy a 7′ mf next for slightly heavier applications.

I’m also looking at these same 7′ rods for pitching jigs to walleyes and smallmouth bass, everything from 1/4 oz. on deeper current or wing dams to 1/8 oz. on shorelines. Is one or the other a better all around choice, or is it a case of owning one of each? (the $400 question…) bawling

Don, I’m relieved that you asked that. I was feeling like a schmuck for hijacking your thread. Sound like we have the same thing in mind.

I use mine for just about everything. I mostly fish with jigs 1/4 to 1/8 oz depends how deep I’m fishing.

Seeing im about 6 miles from the plant my ocd got the best of me and i am now the proud owner of the legend elite 7ft mf . Quick Stick its appears owning one of each was the path i went.Id like to thank everyone who responded. Anybody else have something to contribute or comment on these rods please do so. Thanks Don

Thanks, Don! I’m leaning toward the 7′ MLF. I have a 6’9″ Avid MXF I can keep using for heavier jobs. I can’t swing both in one year.

I have two as well. Lindy rigs, jig, jig raps, rippin raps, bobbers the list goes on. Probably the most versatile rods I have.

I’m looking for just jig pitching specialist and not an all-arounder.

It is an excellent jig rod I use that rod pitching the river and also Mlxf and Mxf. All are excellent performers. But it is. Ice to have the ability to use a rod for more then one thing.

The 68mxf is by far my favorite jig pitching rod, especially with the use of mono. My second choice would be the 7 ft mf. The 70 mf is probably one of the most versatile rods made. The 610mxf while it sounds good on paper , was one of the very few disappointing rods I have used. It feels more like a heavy action than a medium in my opinion. I think the bass guys will love it, but from my experience it just wasn’t what I was hopping for.

Dean, thank you for weighing in here! I’m taking your comment and running with it. The 68MXF is what I’ll be getting.
