Remember Trumps Team saved Millions of lives…. and nobody could dispute it. LOL !!!

That article re-smear, is like saying 5 million people would die, if it were that many that actually did…??? LOL !!!

Lets not forget “It’s a Democratic Hoax ” 85000 dead , 1 million 413 thousand infected in the US. That is higher than any other country in the world ! Trump minimized it and politicized it.

The shutdown is a Hoax… similar amounts of people die from flu, which HAS a vaccine… no shutdown.

Nope. 85k would be a worse than a normal flu year. This happened in two months with unprecedented measures in place

of them 85K, I would bet that 40K of them were flu. Can’t prove it today, but eventually the truth will come out… ask Flynn and Comey.

2 months ? What calendar you using ? LOL !!!

Big_g may be right on this one, at least that’s the case in Italy.

“The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus. On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity – many had two or three,” Prof Walter Ricciardi, scientific adviser to Italy’s minister of health says.

I’m fine with this phased in approach. I hope people continue to wear masks in public indoor settings, maintain distance, and practice good hygiene. You won’t catch me in a group of 10 just yet though.

Can you provide any evidence that masks have helped in any way? Since they have suggested to wear masks (after saying they don’t help…..) the numbers continue to rise at a similar pace. Also, why haven’t the big box stores that are rib to rib with people everyday never turn into “hot spots”? I’m not saying this isn’t a real virus but the percentage numbers are much less scary than the overall cases.

I know this is a vanity fair article but it is a good summation of a few legit studies. If enough people wear masks it stops enough of the spread to significantly slow the virus down. Just some food for though
    https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/05/masks-covid-19-infections-would-plummet-new-study-says

Meh. It lost me with quotes from a computer scientist about health…. the article also states that the World Health Organization seems anti-mask which should be a sign in itself.

I don’t think anyone is arguing about the fact that it is mostly dangerous to older people and people that have some underlying condition. A quote from the article:
This does not mean that Covid-19 did not contribute to a patient’s death, rather it demonstrates that Italy’s fatality toll has surged as a large proportion of patients have underlying health conditions.

    Just some numbers from CDC

Infant deaths from flu this season = 174

    Infant deaths from Covid 19 = 3

Yes… and that one virus is more indiscriminate when it comes to the age of those who succumb to death. Guess which one is more discriminate and therefore, probably is easier to predict the target and to quarantine those who would most likely be infected and perish ?

What an interesting interpretation of data. You are cherry picking very specific statistics from different scenarios in an isolated fashion and making broad generalizations based on that. Whatever makes you feel good though. Be careful with all that self affirmation

Guys, you do know the fishing season is open, right? Perhaps you should be out there trolling walleyes rather than on here trolling each other. Nobody is changing their minds based on the arguments posted in these Covid threads. The die is cast.

A fun fact for Minnesotans! As of today if you are over 65 you will be denied a ventilator. Have fun!

There is a certain percentage of ventilators that are kept available for emergency use. Minnesota has hit that percentage so over 65 with covid- no ventilator. They didn’t say this but it was implied that it is a temporary thing while they acquire more. (Before everybody blames Minnesota for not having more, states weren’t allowed to hoard them, they get moved to areas of need)

    Stop spreading B.S.

The hospital my wife works at has a dozen ventilators. Not ONE is in use. In fact, they don’t have a single covid patient currently admitted in the hospital.

Covid patients that are severe go to Bethesda in St. Paul. There is a hierarchy of where they go after that so that isn’t surprising. Again, the state keeps a certain percentage open for non-covid emergencies (strokes etc). Believe me, don’t believe me, don’t care.

I should also be more specific, that was for the metro area. Oversight and city-centricism on my part.

I’m serious! Why not use your wisdom and put it to good use instead of complaining about everything they are doing wrong? You could be a hero! The application process should be a breeze for you. If you want, I’d love to be a reference. I’m just trying to help you reach your full potential.

As for me, Thanks for the kind words. I too hope someday I’ll make something of myself. My chins up. I’m trying hard to hang in.

    Fish to Escape…..

How about a fishing report or some hunting related brainwork instead of all this covid crap. You’re new here with 36 posts and all are on your self-supporting knowledge of covid. People don’t come here to argue, they come here to get information of fishing, primarily, then hunting.

Why don’t you go gas up the boat or take your place on a dock somewhere so you can post something that people come here to read about. Honestly I am fed up with this constant, non-stop barrage of covid terrorism. Everyone on this site is an adult and can decide for themselves how they want to deal with this crap and all your 36 posts of shpliel isn’t going to change a mind here. In short, give it a rest and take a friggin break.

Damn, it would be nice if the powers that be would just open a dedicated forum to covid so it stays off the FISHING and HUNTING boards.
