ou want to back that up ? That he is financially involved ? FACT check There is no evidence at all that he is !

Anthony Fauci is in fact the director of the NIH which is a federal agency. Having stock, investments, or other financial benefits from a vaccine study by a private company would in fact be highly illegal and I can assure you they watch him closely. That would be a serious conflict of interest. Any agency that regulates a specific commodity is prohibited from having financial assets in them. So a USDA employee can’t have stock or other financial investments in Tyson meats or Smithfield Foods, just as an example.

    Exactly

Not arguing that it isn’t accelerating. People seemed to be fine with the rising deficit for the last three years though, just find it funny

It’s been rising for more than three years kitten

It really started ramping up in the fall of 2008. I don’t know if that would happen to correlate with anything or not? ;)

Thanks, kitten. However, if you are going to be that condescending you should learn the difference between deficit and debt. Otherwise you might end up looking really dumb. The deficit increased after the last recession and then increased again while the economy was good, not sure if that correlated with anything.

I’ll be paddling Monday AM heading north and east after putting in on Ensign Lake.

Need the full report after that one! I’ll be headed the same direction, south arm of knife, over memorial weekend and then base camping Ensign for a few days a few weeks later. Cant wait!

Right, to get out us out of the recession. Raising the deficit during a good economy with “a tax cut that will pay for itself” is an interesting strategy. Big of you to admit your mistake in logic though

Ladies please, you’re both pretty. That “worse” you mentioned is what I was referring to when I said the deficit increased after the last recession, thanks for the chart proving my point. I think we should all be proud of b-man for learning the difference between debt and deficit today.

It’ll be interesting to see how much the positive rate of virus testing increases with the stay at home order lifted. I am at risk of complications to this virus so I have been fortunate to work from home and have minimal excursions out of the house. I missed my first opener since 1978 but fished by myself on Monday and plan to do a solo “one-tank of gas” trip tomorrow. If people still do the social distancing I think it won’t spike high enough to turn the dial back. This virus is a bugger because an infected person is infectious for about 2 days before they show symptoms. Here is a recent scenario from a northern MN county as told to me by a law enforcement officer. A nursing home worker had family (from the Mpls. metro) visit at their house. A few days later one of the family tested positive for the virus. The worker brought the virus into the nursing home and 5 additional staff and 7 residents got infected. That’s how fast this virus can spread. Stay safe everyone and good luck fishing!!

I don’t think anyone is advocating to keep locking it down. Phasing in parts and having safety protocols in place seems logical to me. Just opening things all at once

Oh never mind. Damn it I got sucked in again. I would have a hard time if I was a fish I get suckered into the bait every time.

The 2.2 million comes from here: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-college/medicine/sph/ide/gida-fellowships/Imperial-College-COVID19-NPI-modelling-16-03-2020.pdf

The section in the paper that has that number starts with:

In the (unlikely) absence of any control measures or spontaneous changes in individual behaviour

It was a prediction if people did nothing different and noted that was unlikely.

Yeah still not it, but don’t let the facts get in the way of your preconceptions. Funny enough, I agree with your opinion, just pointing out that # is not correct nor factual.

You can reference the death rate once the virus is contracted, just like I can reference the death rate of all people living here with the potential to be infected by the virus and die. Why can’t you understand they are two different things, but both correct ? What facts are in my way ? I am not stating the percent of people that die, once they are infected, which you are insinuating I did. I am stating if you live in the USA, outside a long term care facility, the chances are very low. If I was wrong in stating it, I would admit it, you are hung up on infected people and death rates. For curiosity, what is your percentage of chance, someone in the USA, let’s say yourself, expires from Covid ? Lets see it.

Yes of course how could I miss that? Federal agencies are never corrupt and all involved possess the utmost integrity and would never, never participate in any endeavor that would bring them personal gain or smack of a conflict of interest.

There’s no evidence of any corruption taking place now or in the past that would indicate any wrongdoing in any federal agency. Yes they all closely watch each other. Thank you I’m now fully relieved and my confidence is restored.

Because your # is only correct in telling you the odds at that specific moment when you calculate it, whereas the actual mortality rate that I’m talking about gives you an accurate idea of your odds of surviving if you contract the disease today, tomorrow, next week or next fall.

Lets not forget “It’s a Democratic Hoax ” 85000 dead , 1 million 413 thousand infected in the US. That is higher than any other country in the world ! Trump minimized it and politicized it.

Super spreading events have been documented across the globe. They all have two items in common:
    1) Lots of people
    2) Indoors

Avoid them and you help avoid exponential infection rates.
