Did you notice them gearing up for any work on 53 from Duluth and north when you were up the other week?

Heading up Friday for the whole opener week.
Me also, maybe we will finally meet and have a burger or Beer.
Have a great trip!
35 E northbound is single lane from about a mile south of the 35w-35e split up to Forrest Lake. Stay in the left lane if headed north. (Right lane for business exits)
The misery continues….

Zipper merge people!
Yes, please, for the love of all that is holy! Zipper merge!
Would 61 or 65 be a good alternative to get past it or are too many doing that already?

There is construction in the 694 / HW 10 area. So there are back ups coming in from the east metro. Once you get though the construction its not to bad from there. No idea on 61 other than lots of stop lights.
The big problem with 35e right now is the single lane through the constriction zone. It’s white knuckle through there without a boat on back. Someone gets a flat or stalls out, there is no way to get around.

I live In north branch so i go through the forest lake mess everyday. On busy weekends like opener 61 will be awful as well.
An option would be 65 north to Ogilvie and 23 east to 35 at Hinkley. But that also will be loaded.
The best option for you all is take 35 south and visit relatives in Iowa.
All last year and so far this year I have been going 65 to 107 at Braham to 23 to 35 at Hinckly. Takes about 15 Minutes longer but less stress.

Just FYI, they just started doing construction at 65 & 107. It’s down to one lane in each direction.. Shouldn’t be too bad if you aren’t driving during the evening rush.
@Grubson and I will be on our way to Namakan Thursday morning. Get a couple days to chase some Crappies and hopefully some BIG Pike! Then on to them delicious Walleye Saturday morning!!
Ill be heading up to the hunting shack north of cloquet this weekend and unfortunately we will be leaving Friday morning around 9AM so I’m guessing i will have company. Any suggestions on the quickest route up there? Wouldn’t mind going out of the way a bit to avoid the construction if there is a good option.

Bring the warm rain gear with ya. Calling for up to 1.5″ of rain and highs in the low/mid 40’s with strong ENE winds for the weekend up here
