We put out 10 poles last night after cutting willows yesterday afternoon. The creek had a somewhat normal flow but just a little high after the recent rains. We baited up with shrimp and trolled up and down the creek for an hour and caught just 3 fish, two were put back and we kept one that was around 2 pounds. We were hoping for a better bite but with the high water we’ve had here we figured the fish had been eating well the last few weeks.

I put the boat in the water around noon today and checked them again and there was 3 fish on, a 4, 3, and 2lber’s and two more hooks that were pulled into the nearby roots so the fish got off. Three others with no bait so I figured they worked loose of the hooks, two other hooks still had the shrimp on them and I changed too new shrimp. I relocated one pole from a spot that I wanted to test too just a little farther down from the snags, about 10 feet. We had rain last night and the creek came up about 2 feet and a few of the hooks had trash on them. The trash, small sicks, bark and grass wasn’t coming down so much when I was checking them so maybe there will be more fish when I go out again here in a few. The water clarity wasn’t so bad so maybe there will be a hookup.
