Stand Harness Extension?

I bought a new ladder stand this year and found out opening morning that the harness that came with the stand is only 14″ long. I am 6’4″ and I can barely lean forward enough to try to stand up, let alone try to turn in either direction once I am standing up. Is 14″ really how long these are?

Never used one before, and ended up not using it this weekend (I know, I know)…..but I want to use it going forward.

What can I use to extend this 1′ or so?

I realize I should have tried it in the stand before opener morning! smash

You’re better off spending the money and buying a new one. The safety harness’ from HSS or others come with longer leads that attach to the tree strap. I wouldn’t recommend using an extension as you would then be changing the integrity of the harness possibly creating a weak point for failure which is what you are trying to avoid while wearing a harness. Pricing for a new harness can be $70 – $150 but well worth it when you consider the price you might pay not wearing one.
