Been quite a while since I picked one up. In the sports section there was one story on a college baseball kid but not one sentence on the Twins or MLB baseball. Is it always like that or was my paper missing a section?

I find it interesting on how newspapers have changed since the days Riley wrote for St. Paul & Sid wrote for Mpls. How many remember Reusse wrote for the St. Paul paper?

I remember Riley in the Pioneer Press, and Dennis Anderson worked there as well. I remember when they printed a morning and evening edition during the week. I remember when the Minneapolis Star and Minneapolis Tribune were separate papers. And of course Sid.

Riley was the first columnist I can remember reading. Overall we have had some pretty good newspaper guys.

At least they still have a paper. I haven’t seen a st cloud times in a long time. And the last time I bought one it was 2 bucks more then the trib for the Sunday edition

It was the same for the times sports section! pathetic, but then most everything in it was USA stuff

Newspapers used to be an important way that almost everyone got their news,
big cities had as many as 10 DAILY papers, we used to get a morning and afternoon paper every day. If you think of the crazy conspiracy theories just invented and propagated on the web, know that this mostly did not happen in the age of newspapers. Yes each paper had a political slant but articles were written by people with an education and these people had a sense of civic responsibility,
just writing civic responsibility sounds like an antique, and what does that tell us?
