My wife and I are picking up company from the Mariott in St Louis Park tomorrow night for dinner and looking for some good recommendations. Thank you.

Oooh, you’re coming to the WEST SIDE!
Sorry, I don’t have any good suggestions. The FW don’t get out much anymore. Eating out with our kids is not my idea of fun.

Planked salmon on your new oar, er I mean paddle?
Yes, we are a little apprehensive going to the “other” side of the cities but its family so we must.
I’m taking my big pocket knife.April 3, 2017 at 1:54 pm #1686119There are some decent chain places (Crave, Rojo, etc) around The Shoppes at West End or whatever its called. I had some good Jamaican wings at the Park Tavern.
Sorry I can’t be of much better help.

You have been. Thank you. This is the second time Park Tavern has came up too. My wifes friend just mentioned Bunny’s and Kips.
April 3, 2017 at 2:02 pm #1686122Ive eaten and Rojo which has a great corn chowder soup. Kind of an annoying trendy atmoshere though which I gather isn’t your style.
Than Do is pretty solid for thai food.
While technically in Minneapolis (its very close to the SE corner of ST Louis Park), Pizzeria Lola is my favorite pizza place in all of MN.
Bennihana is decent.
I haven’t tried Sushi X but ive wanted to. Could give that a try if you enjoy sushi.
April 3, 2017 at 2:03 pm #1686123I’ve been disappointed several times at Kip’s, but I haven’t been there lately.
April 3, 2017 at 2:10 pm #1686125Tucked away behind the Doubletree Hilton by the West End is Yangtze, Thai food which is awesome! Or Taste of India, if you like spicy Indian food. Bunny’s is a great breakfast spot, never been for lunch/dinner. And Park Tavern is mediocre at best imo.
Since it is a rare venture to the good side of the city, I would HIGHLY recommend Hola Arepa or Revival (Southern food and best fried chicken around) off Nicollet in South MSP, two of the best casual places in the entire cities imo.

If you’re looking for homemade from scratch cooking 50’s Grill up 15min or so on hwy 100 is awesome. 50’s theme, chicks in poodle skirts, great malts and desserts. Ain’t no $30 plate either. An option.
April 3, 2017 at 2:16 pm #1686128Revival is excellent. If we are extending this to Minneapolis than I have to mention Quangs (most amazing hands down best Pho you will ever have in your life)!!!!, and World Street Kitchen. WST has a Korean BBQ Burrito and Red Curry Chicken Burrito that are out of this world for a mere $8. Their biscuit fried chicken sandwich is nothing to scoff at either.
zooksPosts: 922April 3, 2017 at 2:20 pm #1686129Which Marriott, the one with Kip’s attached or the two over near Costco? Plenty of suggestions either way, would be happy to narrow it down for you if you specified.
April 3, 2017 at 2:23 pm #1686131Lots of bad things happening in murderapolis lately. I dont think I want to take my wife and sister there after dark? Those places sound great though. Fried chicken. mmmmmmm
April 3, 2017 at 2:28 pm #1686136Kips is ok, not my fav there so just kept ordering beer.
Park Tavern is good bar style food. Pizza is good too.
Not sure what style of food your into and what you want to pay, but Ridgedale has 3 options that are good. They are: Redstone, Kona(probably my least favorite) and Bar Louie. Been at Bar Louie many times and never had anything bad, redstone is ok as well.
April 3, 2017 at 2:31 pm #1686138What are you looking for?
If it’s greasy bar food and beer then Bunny’s is a great bet. They also have free popcorn which is awesome in my book.
If you are looking for something more upscale, I’d shoot into Mpls and then you have a million options. The Kenwood on the north end of Lake of the Isles is close to SLP and a classy joint.
April 3, 2017 at 2:33 pm #1686139Looking for beer and food. Nice place to sit down and talk. I only see my sister once every few years. I think its been around 5 this time.

If that’s what you’re looking for, Cooper in the West End Shops or The Park Tavern is where I’d go.

April 3, 2017 at 7:01 pm #1686215I made a reservation at Red Stone. Thanks for all the help guys. I appreciate it.
deertrackerPosts: 9237April 4, 2017 at 7:19 am #1686319Redstone is good. I haven’t been to the SLP one, but we have one in Maple Grove. Try the pineapple doli!
FryDog62Posts: 3696April 4, 2017 at 10:30 pm #1686527The old Redstone in Minnetonka was good, the one in Eden Prairie is great, but the new one at Ridgedale sucks IMO. Not nearly the atmosphere of the others. All red, low ceilings, mall atmosphere, poor service, but at least the same food which is good.
