Been getting good numbers of small walleye and some keepers lately.

Walleye and saug dogs in 30 to 18 fow.

Active jigging is working, so its not the call them in with a jig and they take the minnow under bobber scenario. Its been a good time. Don’t get me wrong I like lots of techniques but actively jigging fish and having them come up and slam your bait is FUN!

Jigging Rapalas are hard to beat. They are extremely versatile and as active techniques are most often used and enjoyed they can be just as effective subtly presented. I’ll write more about that. The second pic fish was a subtle tech.

John E in the pics – one of the most passionate anglers I have ever met, he always brings the good vibes!

Thanks for the report Turk! Good to see you guys catching some fish.

I ran into a good bite a couple weeks ago in 21 FOW. Odd though. They didn’t want the jigging rap at all. 1/8 ounce spoons on both rods with a full minnow on the dead stick. I left the dead stick 3-4 feet up and used the jigging stick to work them up. Its been 50/50. Some wouldn’t touch the moving jig but would come up and pound the dead stick once they seen it. They usually like the jigging rap but has been slow most days where was. Only a few days left!

I agree 100%. I have some new entrance points that we can explore also. See if I can show a young guy like you some new water..haha.
Maybe even leave a spud bar for good measure.
