St. Croix River Opener GTG (Virtual)

    I wish this was an April fools joke, but this years opener GTG will need to be virtual. Not the end of the world as before our shelter in place rules, a few of our normal meeting places had gone out of business.

    I will work on a Zoom or Webex meeting and will send the invitation to those 10-12 guys who normally participate. Once I’ve done that, I’ll open it up to new members.

    For those new to the GTG. We normally spend some time the Thursday evening before the St. Croix walleye opener catching up, drinking a few beers, and BS’ing about the upcoming fishing season. I would venture to say this has been going on for 10-15 years, I lose track!

    This years St. Croix River walleye opener is set for May 2nd, that makes the GTG, Thursday, April 30th. I’ll set the time for 6 pm as kind of a middle ground time for all.

    I’m out. Going to miss the toast and the wings this year. Will see you on the river. I’ll be fishing anywhere from the Arcola Bridge north of Stillwater to Lock & Dam #3 (depending on the Croix bite). Give a wave if you see me smash wave toast

    sorry I missed this! Ended up slammed with last minute work, so I could take the day off on Friday… went over to Wissota for opener weekend. Did fairly well, although the wind was a bugger… Probably hit the Croix this week.
