    All invited:

What: St. Croix River Opener GTG
    When: Thursday, April 30th, 4 pm – 7 pm
Where: Shiners Bar and Grill – Lakeland, MN (1 mile south of I94)
Who: All River Rats, Wanna Be River Rats, Anyone that loves fishing the St. Croix River

I hope you can join us for another St. Croix Opener celebration and GTG. With the walleye opener set for May 2 on the St. Croix and other WI waters, this is a chance to catch up with old friends, make some new ones, and talk everything about fishing, where, when, and how!!

We’ve been doing this since I joined the website in 2005 and this year we are returning to the original location of this event (at least in my memory). Shiners is located at 157 St Croix Trail, Lakeland, MN 55043. They serve good food and have a convenient location to both MN and WI.

Respond if you can make it but we welcome all, even those who need to wait until day of to make final decision.

I will try to be there if I can get back from a business trip to Madison in time. I am new to Hudson and need to figure out, or at least get some advice on fishing the area rivers, lakes, and streams. Looking forward to meeting you guys.

If you think you can attend, please respond here. Shiners has offered to staff up for 4 pm if we expect a good turnout.

SCR has many no-wake zones for the Jon boaters!

I thought it was the day we’re voting on public funding for the new volleyball stadium…or was that soccer?

I’ll be there with my walleye cheeks!

I thought you just clipped off the whiskers and fried them up and let the fish go…..a never ending resource that will just grow back.

No, no, you’re going to give the presentation. Your topics, need I remind you, are:

    1) What license do I need if I’m from IA fishing three lines with a)bullheads b) sunfish c) shad caught with a cast net

    2) How to re-inflate your Float-Tech life preserver! (Request from IDO member)

    3) Explaining the new sturgeon season rules for those fishing the St. Croix from both WI and MN!

We’ll leave the soccer stadium debate for another date, but I think we can all agree that the state tax surplus should be used here. devil

I just registered for the forum. This sounds like a great opportunity for a river rat wannabe like me to gather some fishing misinformation, have a few beers and watch packer and viking fans argue. (I am a Chicago native and Bear Fan). I hope to make the scene at the St Croix Opener GTG.

I’ll be there at 4. I thought I’d open it up in case anyone wants to get in on happy hour. I assume most will be in that after work crowd 5:30 – 6:30. We’ve all seen this thing go past 7 too so don’t be afraid to stop in even if you can’t make it until 6 or 6:30.

Packers pick at #30 might be closer to 9 pm and we’ll see if the Vikes stack multiple first rounders again as they’ve done the last two years. I also see above that we’ll have a Bears fan. Not sure what we’ll do with him, I’ll be sure to reserve two tables! )
