Anyone fish the Croix north of TF?
I grew up in the Chisago area but never fished it.

I’ve been up there a few times. There is a few miles right above the dam with deeper water that is easy to navigate. Other than that plane on running shallow water with plenty of rocks.

Worth the effort to check it out. Lots of open water when I drove across the bridge Thursday.

I spend a decent amount of time fishing north of tfalls. The last few years I have been spending more time from sunrise to grantsburg.

I’m in a kayak so no worries about running aground, but my favorite stretch of river by far is anywhere between Danbury and Highway 70 landing. I had multiple outings last year where I caught 20+ smallies (including my pb, a 21.5 incher.)

Every once in awhile I’ll venture south of Taylor’s Falls but the remoteness, wilderness, and lack of people/overall boat traffic keep me driving north most of the time.

That’s a beautiful stretch of river up there, broeker. Our hunting property is a few miles northwest of Danbury.

Do you ever run into any walleyes or pike/Muskie up there?
