looking to get this model st croix this year and wanted some info on it. If any body has one can they tell me if it would be a good rod for using soft plastics in shallow water manly using four grub for post spawn walleye. also was wondering about the flex of the rod if it’s a light power but fast action is it gonna be more of a moderate bend? thanks in advance for the replys

Have not used the 7 foot lf, but I own the 7 foot mlf and really like the action for everything from blade baits to plastics find that it’s my go to rod for just about everything.

thanks I have a mlf love it like you said it’s the go to rod but wanted something with a little more bend on the hook set thought the 70lf would be the ticket

Im sorry being late on the response…That model is pretty fast…great for finesse stuff and live bait rigging. Awesome Crappie rod too…It has enough
pizzazz to handle a good Eye with a smooth drag reel.
I almost bought one as a dedicated One Eye rod…:)

when you say pretty fast do you mean more of parabolic bend that’s what I’m looking for to cast 1/8 Oz jigs with a four inch curly tail in shallow water?

Technically a MLF and LF would have the same bend, since they’re both label fast action. The difference is being that the lesser power rod will yield more on the same weight load. So in effect if you’re looking for more bend play on the rod, yes you can achieve it that way.

    thanks slipperybob

    you’re welcome.

Eventually I need to add a 7′ in light and med. light to my arsenal. I’m just so set in my 6′ rods.

whoay5 are you looking for something that’s pretty whippy or something with just more bend in the tip?

I like more of a moderate action rod….
