Just picked up a 6’6″ MLF legend tourney. I will be throwing 1/8th oz jigs for the most part for walleye in shallow water, but up to a 1/4oz. Curious if anyone out there has this rod and can give some input on the backbone of it. Too soft? Just right? Too soft for mono? This is my most expensive rod and would like to be sure I’ve made a good decision. Thanks

I’ve used the avid model in 66mlf. It’s a great and versatile rod, especially with 6 or 8 pound power pro. IMO it’s a little light for mono. I love the tourney models but haven’t used this particular rod in the tourney version. It will be even better than the avid!

Should be a pretty great for those weight ranges. It could be a little soft for mono. A MLXF should offset that but I think you made a great choice.

I originally got the 6’3 mxf avid actually but returned it for the legend tourney. I thought the medium was a little stiff. Planned on getting another avid until I picked up the legend. Night and day difference for only $50 more. I will still be picking up a few avids though. I REALLY wish I could’ve got the MLXF but that wasn’t an option. I did notice that st croix makes cabelas exclusive models with a variety of power and actions. Just wonder if they are any different in quality or anything
