Last year the spring bobber detached from my St. Croix Ice rod. I sent it back in to them late in the season and in just a day or two they called me and said they were out of Ice Rods for the season and that they are going to send me a Gift certificate for $60

About a month ago I finally got around to using my GC. I went with the Avid Ice Jigging Rod.

It arrived withing 2 days and I have to say, I am very impressed by the quality and function of this rod.

It has similar guides to my Throne Bros and it so far is my favorite rod for jigging.
They have really come a long way with their ice rod line and as always have great customer service.

it’s a great rod, their Avid Glass for panfish is also very nice… getting both for the price of 1 custom rod is what sold me…

Did you go with a medium or medium-light action? And what jig/lure size do these really excel at? I see Cabala’s has them on sale.

I have a medium light and it’s pretty stiff…I honestly can’t imagine using just a medium… I’m primarily using it with #4 Rippin Raps
