Who sells maggots in St. Cloud and do they have them right now? I’m going to be there on Friday.

St. Cloud Euro Larve?

Not to take away from any of the bait shops locally in the St. Cloud area, but a good way to make sure you have bait is to order it online…Yes you can have bait shipped directly to you in large quantities….enough for the winter for some people.
Vados BaitOtherwise if you want to give the small bait shops some business, I would check with Stop light bait, right off Hwy 10.
Stop Light baitDecember 6, 2016 at 1:57 pm #1655011Cal, how do you keep wigglers/Euro Larva alive?
An air tight container at 33deg is what I’ve heard but I’ve never tried it. How many die and is there any other maintenance?

When you plan to fish, take out what you think you’ll need and get the bulk pack right back in the cold. If you have some baits left after fishing DO NOT put them back in the bulk bag. Use them the next trip or toss them. Once a Euro has gotten warm it will begin to pupate [turn hard and brown] and this action produces pheromones that will cause every one of them to pupate.
35mm film canisters or the “bait pucks” work good to carry your fishing baits but I always leave the bulk pack intact and get it into the cold as soon as possible.

What Tom said above…I take out what I need, usually 75-100 at a time and fill up a bait puck, leaving the rest in the package. I have a bait fridge in the garage that works wonders to keep the larve at the perfect temp. Just add bait from the bulk package as needed. Works well.
December 6, 2016 at 11:45 pm #1655113The Bait Den is just as good for Euro larvae as Stop Light Bait. They’re both excellent, with very nice/helpful owners. Just depends on what side of town you’re on.
December 7, 2016 at 6:31 am #1655125what sites are best to order from? I think I can get a 1000 for about 11-13 of red spikes from local bait shop. How much are regular waxies online that may be something I would check into.

They come in multiply colors and work great all summer and Winter. Our local bait shop has them and you can order them on line too if you like. They’re great when you have little kids to take fishing because the seem to stay on longer.
