February 24, 2022 at 9:59 am #2102648-27 this morning, predicted -25 overnight. Yes, spring can show up anytime.
February 24, 2022 at 10:06 am #2102657Don’t play with my emotions like that Gimruis! But I’ll dust off the shorts and flip flops just in case…
February 24, 2022 at 10:07 am #210265850 degrees sounds amazing!!! I did see 9 robins in the crabapple tree yesterday. Was nice to see.
February 24, 2022 at 10:08 am #2102659I hope that prediction is correct. This winter has been far to much of Cold, Wind, and snow. It seems like most every weekend we have had at least 1 of them, and some weekends we have had all Three. Why do I live here again ????
IceManBranPosts: 191February 24, 2022 at 10:14 am #2102665Jeez you guys. I didn’t realize so many here were sick of winter already lol
February 24, 2022 at 10:18 am #2102669My living room windows face SE. We have a crystal clear day up here and I can tell you that the sun coming in the windows is HOT. -3 temp outside but the sun is getting it’s power back, plus the days are longer. So depressing getting up and going to bed when it’s always dark.

This year we will still have 24″-30″ of SOLID ice when wheelhouses start to come off. It’s going to be a late ice out, even with a big warm up. Might make for an interesting opener in some areas of the state.

Not that funny. FW had me try on all of my shorts last Saturday to donate the ones that didn’t fit. (only 1). Yesterday I saw my flip flops and checked them out to see if they were good for another year.
Glad I don’t have to spend another $15.00 this year.

February 24, 2022 at 10:31 am #2102677It’s right around the corner and can’t come soon enough.
However, this is what the model shows for next Friday. Week out, but the same model called this last storm a week ahead of time.
February 24, 2022 at 10:36 am #2102680We need to get pounded with snow first and then followed by rain. Get those rivers back to where they need to be. The st croix was tough to navigate below the dam last year.
The only benefit was I got to see a 1000 pockets of eels sitting in 18 inches of water, I had never seen that beforeFebruary 24, 2022 at 11:19 am #2102712Worst news ever. I love winter and am always sad to see it go.
I love cold temps, clean air and white snow.tswobodaPosts: 8703February 24, 2022 at 11:35 am #2102721The Climate Prediction Center is showing a substantial warming trend next week. The 6-10 day outlook is also indicating a chance at 50 degrees for the first time this year in a week.
Yeah I don’t see a day over 30 degrees in the 14 day forecast. What gives?

I don’t know what your source is for weather but I think its safe to say that based on the responses here, people are ready for spring!
Side note: my weather app shows all 30’s next week and then some 20’s beyond that so who knows. Weather prediction is like throwing darts in the dark.
basseyesPosts: 2551February 24, 2022 at 12:20 pm #2102753Pool 4 could definitely use a little flow from melting and then a few late heavy snows dumped in. Hopefully the snowpack North of here in the Mississippi River watershed is notable, because locally here there’s not much. If we start the year at current levels and hit any sort of dry spell like last Summer, it will be the lowest mid summer levels locally in a long time (20+ years).
I’m looking forward to the late ice action starting up in a couple weeks and carrying right to the boat through early July. We’re headed towards the best time of the year. Once July hits, the fishing slows and the family vacations start. Unfortunately the mounds of work seem to always get in the way though.

I am not sure that is going to be easily attainable with all the snow we have on the ground here. The ditches are all level with the road. There has to be 18 inches to 2 feet on the ground. The sun has some power, but it sure would be nice to break out of this funk.

NOAA for the 7 day. TWC for the 14 day. But I’m probably north of you.
Oh I’m ready… never been more ready for spring. Just don’t like getting my hopes up for 50+ degrees and then immediately let down when I check the actual forecast.

It is. Nevis had about 3 feet of snow and just got a ton more, with more on the way. And from what I understand that applies across most of Northern MN that drains into the Mississippi.
February 24, 2022 at 1:09 pm #2102798I’m ready. I’m seeing potentially a couple 30 degree days next week mixed with upper 20s. That will feel good. Sick of the subzero stuff.
CharlesPosts: 1978February 24, 2022 at 1:24 pm #2102810Yeah we don’t need that quick of a warm up though.
You don’t like big nasty sloppy messes. I love when jobsites are un navigable
