Which trolling motor do you have and what year did you buy it?

My guess is you’ve got the pre 2017 model Terrova. If so, your ipilot is shot.

The drifting off the spot lock location is definitely an issue with the ipilot gps. Since it’s so new, you might be able to demand a new generation motor which are supposed to be light years better.

Get that motor into a service center immediately and get your problems reported.

To be clear, this is common practice in customer service. You never admit to widespread issues. It only ruins a brand and the customers would start a class action lawsuit for a recall.

I have never had a company EVER admit there’s a widespread problem, unless you consider recalls.

They can switch it to the new blue tooth. They did it on my 2014 Ulteera. You need the new remote with it. It is plug and play. I had to argue with them to get the new head and remote but they did send them to me and I installed the head in about 10 minutes. Works great, spot lock holds within 3 to 5 ft. Of spot. It did end up costing me $500.00 to switch it over but it was worth it. I also got the heading sensor with it. To bad they won’t own up and make things right for all the people that have the old style spot lock that is junk.

It is to bad they won’t fix the bad ones. I had the second year I pilot and it was flawless. I bought a new one last year and it is not nearly as good.

Their feeding you a line of B.S. I know cause I put the new head on a 2014 motor. They told me it would work but didn’t want to upgrade it because of warranty issues. My warranty was almost up so it didn’t matter. The motor wasn’t any good to me if it didn’t work anyways. I’m happy with it now even if I got taken for an extra $500.00. Minn Kota sure went down hill when Johnson took over.
