Sportsman 500 Starting Problem

I have a Polaris Sportsman that has an issue. I took it out ice fishing during the brutal temps and now it has problems starting. It’s turns over but as soon as it does it sounds as if I am squeezing the throttle lever to accelerate. It sounds loud and then it dies.
    Thanks for any help,

Ice in fuel line or carb float bowl?

Can you move it to a heated garage? I’d add fuel water treatment but you need to get it thawed to get the additive down to the carb.

    Agree with this.

Annoying what really cold weather does to stuff.

Have a Kawasaki prairie that is extremely cold blooded and it’s a pain. Full fuel tanks help, but once it hit’s that magical twenty below, a heated structure is about the only cure.

The tank had stabil and sea foam in it when this started happening. It is also fuel injected so that takes the Carb float off the table. I’ll try to get it in a warm space and see if that helps. Thanks for the insight.

Neither of these is an adequate treatment for drying or deicing a wet fuel system. Add ISO Heat or equivalent.

Best guess at this point in fuel constriction caused by water buildup. This usually happens at a metal fitting, but not always.

Best treatment is to add ISO Heat to fuel and leave ATV in a heated shop overnight. Then start and test. If it runs better, keep it running to draw water treatment through all fuel lines. Then either drain tank or burn as much fuel as possible before adding fresh.
