Sports Betting

The only time I ever bet on sports was years ago when I bet my boss the packers would have more wins than the Vikings that season. I came home from college over Christmas break and went into his office to collect and he tried to pay me with Timberwolves tickets. I laughed it off and took a free dinner and a case of rolling rock from the restaurant’s walk-in.

I’m fairly well disciplined so it’s not a problem for me, I just think it’s weird how society hand picks which vices are OK and which are not. We’re OK if you wanna ruin your life betting on horses, but not on team sports. We’re OK if you wanna get blotto on vodka but not on heroin. We’re OK if you smoke this, but not that. And now with different states being all over the map on gambling and marijuana, the lines are even more blurred. It’s just silly to me.

Next football season I’m gonna set aside $200 bucks for parlay bets only. One per week, $5-$10 a pop, on wild parlays that have low probability but significant payout potential. Basically what I’d spend on power ball in a year, so why not? It’s generally a waste of money but I’ve wasted $200 on dumber things.

    He’s just trolling.

Although, I would like to hear a real explanation of how these games are rigged. Typically sports players are athletically gifted and not he smarted people on earth. So, how are these major sports organizations keeping these guys from talking. Hell, they can’t keep of Twitter when there’s a riff between guys.

Anyways, I’m honestly kind of surprised I thought more on this board would be pro sports betting. I’m one, I bet on every Vikings game, plus some additional side bets. I lost my butt this year, but I enjoy it.

Im not trolling at all. Professional sports are part of the entertainment industry just like reality TV. Theres way too much money and not enough transparency.

I dont sports bet and would support it being legal here for those that choose to. No reason the Casinos should have a monopoly on this. We are already going to lost the electronic pulltabs next year or they will at least be nothing like they are now because of them.

What will come first in MN anyways?

    Coffee shops plus
    Sports betting
    Jawjackers

I really have no interest in moneyline or any of the other types of sports betting because its a coinflip every time and that is not good for making money.

You’re telling me a coinflip, a 50/50 bet is too risky for you?

I never said it’s too much of a risk? I prefer better odds than a stupid coinflip.

I’m actually pretty disciplined betting on DFS but I’m still up around 100K so it’s going to take some time for me to eff that up.

So close to another life changing payout. One wrong move is the difference between 67K and $63.

    I ended up pocketing $80.

Over 1.5 TDs for McCaffrey + Packers cover = +$90

Lost my $10 bet on Big 4 first TD (McCaffrey, Jones, Reed, Deebo)
